About the Mission:

We have the honor of being invited to the viewing, funeral and burial ceremonies for this WWII Veteran. Mr. Vershay lived to be 99.9 yrs. old, missing his 100th by 2 weeks. He was very proud of his service during the war and attended Honor Flight and Soaring Valor. I encourage you to read his obituary for more information on his service to his country.

Taken from part of his obit; His high school education was interrupted by WWII when he enlisted in the U.S. Army at the age of 17. He proudly served as an anti-aircraft gunner and radar operator in the Pacific theater. Robert was a World War II Veteran and served in the U.S. Army, 508 Anti-Aircraft Artillery Division. He served with great pride and dedication. During the war he was assigned to the campaign in the Southern Philippines-Luzon New Guinea. He was awarded the American Service Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal, and Philippines Liberation Ribbon & World War II Victory Medal.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.


Special Information:

Calling hours are 4-7PM on 3/26 and we will stand a flag line for the arrival of the family and guests. The funeral will take place at the church which is right next door to the funeral home. Please do what you can to stand a line even if it's not for the full duration.

The church service is expected to be approx. 45 min. which will be followed by an escort to the cemetery.

We will be escorting Mr. Vershay from the church to the cemetery. There will be full military honors for his burial. If you are not able to do the escort feel free to join us at the cemetery.
