About the Mission:

Patriot Guard Riders of NY has been requested to stand in honor of the life and service of Dominick James Dellaccio of Lockport, NY, who passed away on 8 August 2022.

Mr. Dellaccio served our nation for 2 years on active duty in the US Army Infantry from 1969-1971, with an Army MOS of 11B40-Light Weapons Infantry. He had 12 months of foreign duty in Vietnam from June 1969 to June 1970, during which time he served with the infantry in the Vietnamese DMZ and also served as a personal aide to the Commanding General of the 101st Airborne Division at Camp Eagle, Vietnam. Mr. Dellaccio's final assignment was with Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division at Fort Riley, Kansas.

Mr. Dellaccio was honorably discharged from active duty on 19 January 1971 with the rank of Sergeant (E-5) and he earned the following awards: Bronze Star Medal; Army Commendation Medal; National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal; 2 Overseas Bars; Army M-16 & M-14 Expert Qualification Badges; First Class Gunner (Grenade) Badge; and Cold War Service Medal. Mr. Dellaccio was a member of the Lockport VFW & American Legion and Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter #268 in Niagara Falls, NY.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: NYS Guidelines of 2 March 2022, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.


Special Information:

PGR will provide a respectful flag line for the arrival of the family and guests.  The Mass of Christian Burial begins at 10:00 AM, followed by military & PGR honors at the church.
There is no escort or cemetery involved in this mission.  NOTE: Mr. Dellaccio is a close friend and classmate of RC John Ben and his brother Pat.
