About the Mission:

The family of Vietnam War veteran Anthony T. Grasso has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in honoring his life and service. Mr. Grasso of Buffalo, NY passed away on 13 March 2024.

Mr. Grasso served our nation for 2 years on active duty in the US Army from 1968-1970, with an Army MOS of 11B20-Light Weapons Infantryman. He served a 12-month deployment to Vietnam from July 1968 - July 1969, assigned to the 77th Armor Regiment. Mr. Grasso was honorably discharged from active duty on 20 February 1970 at Fort Carson, CO with the rank of Sergeant (E-5), and earned the following awards: Bronze Star Medal; Air Medal; Combat Infantryman Badge; National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal w/1 Bronze Service Star (2 Awards); Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm; and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.

Special Information:

PGR will provide a respectful flag line for arrival of the family and guests. The Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10:00 AM. There is no escort or cemetery involved in this Mission.

NOTE: Military Honors will be rendered on Wednesday, 20 March 2024 at 1:00 PM at the WNY National Cemetery. Though not an official part of this Mission, PGR members are welcome to attend.

Please be prepared with a clean 3x5 American or US Army flag, and dress for the weather. Thank you for devoting your time to help honor the US Army Vietnam War service of Anthony T. Grasso, and to support his loving family.
