About the Mission:
The family of Robert R. Lynch has requested Patriot Guard Riders' participation in his military honors funeral services. Robert, 81, passed on 14 September 2025.
Born in Albany, NY, Robert entered the United States Army on 2 December 1966, during the Vietnam War. He served for 2 years on active duty, including 9 months assigned to Company "C", 36th Engineering Battalion in Lai Khe, Vietnam. He went on to continue his military service in the US Army Reserves for two decades, retiring at the rank of Staff Sergeant (E-6). Among his awards and decorations; US Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal w/1960 Device and 1 Overseas Bar.
In addition to his military service, Robert's career with the New York State Court of Claims spanned over 30 years, where he served as a court attendant. During his tenure, he also served for several years as an officer in the Civil Service Employees Association (CSEA) Judiciary Union, advocating for the rights and welfare of his fellow judicial employees. He was an active member of the Guilderland Volunteer Fire Department for over 40 years, and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) since 1971.

Staging at the funeral home with a flag line for the arrival of family and guests. Following the dignified transfer, members will escort to Saratoga National Cemetery for a 12:30 shelter service.
