Special Mission
Remembering the Vietnam Tet Offensive

Stephentown, NY - 08/17/2019
Mission applies to the following Region(s): Region 4, Region 5
About the Mission:

The Veterans of Stephentown will present Young Men At War: Remembering The Tet Offensive, an exclusive exhibit featuring 20 images from the Battle of Hue, a turning point in the Vietnam War during the infamous Tet Offensive. Captured by Chatham, New York resident John Olson in February 1968, during his service as a U.S. Army combat photographer for Stars & Stripes, these transformative images are renowned for their realistic depiction of the war's bloodiest battle.

Although their subject matter can be haunting, the history of these images is distinguished and influential. They were published in the March 8, 1968 issue of Life Magazine, profiled on CBS Sunday Morning and displayed in a groundbreaking 50th Anniversary exhibition at The Newseum in Washington, D.C.

The Patriot Guard Riders will stand a flag line during ceremonies conducted by the the Pittsfield Vietnam Veterans of America and the Veterans of Stephentown.
