About the Mission: | The family of James L. Gaudette has requested Patriot Guard Rider participation in his military honors funeral services. Jim, 74, of Diane Lane passed away Monday April 25, 2022 at his home. Born in Troy, Jim was a graduate of Hoosick Valley High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the US Navy on 22 November 1966. He was trained as a Communications Technician and during his career, was assigned to Navy Communications Stations in Morocco and the Philippines. He was honorably discharged on 28 August 1970 at the rank of Petty Officer 3rd Class, and for his service was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. After his military service, Jim was employed for many years by the General Electric Co. and later Active Industries from which he retired as a recognized specialist in the manufacture and quality control of specialized electrical insulation products mainly for the industrial generator market. He was a member of the American Legion and several professional engineer organizations. He enjoyed golfing, playing darts and horseshoes.
