Carl S. Oberg
USAAC - WWII
Multi-City, NY - 11/25/2020

Mission applies to the following Region(s): Region 4, Region 5
About the Mission: The family of Carl Sterner Oberg has requested Patriot Guard Rider participation in his military honors funeral services. Carl, 95, passed on November 18, 2020.

Carl grew up in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts and served in the United States Army Air Corps as a bombardier during WWII, earning the rank of Flight Officer. After his Army service, Carl used the GI Bill to study at UMASS-Amherst, married and had a long and successful career as a U.S. Steel salesman.

He later became a certified financial planner, beginning the second chapter of his life. At 70 years old, he got his pilot’s license and enjoyed 10 years of flying small airplanes, a testament to his sense of adventure. Carl was able to participate in the Leatherstocking Honor Flight a few years ago and was very moved by the Patriot Guard Riders escort.

Portions of the above narrative are contained in Carl's obituary, available for viewing online on the Myers Funeral Home website by clicking HERE
