Michael A. Spaccaforno
USMC - Vietnam Veteran
and PGR Member

Sidney Center, NY - 07/11/2020
Mission applies to the following Region(s): Region 2, Region 5
About the Mission: The family of Michael A. Spaccaforno has requested Patriot Guard Rider participation in his military honors interment services. Michael, 72, passed on Tuesday, December 25, 2019. We stood for Michael on December 29, 2019. At that time, his interment was postponed until such time as the family could make the necessary arrangements.

Born in New York City, Michael graduated from Andrew Jackson High School and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1965. He served as a motor vehicle operator (MOS 3531) while assigned to the 3rd Marines, 3rd Medical Battalion in Vietnam. For his service, he was awarded the Combat Action Ribbon, Navy Presidential Unit Citation w/Bronze Star, Navy Unit Commendation w/Bronze Star, USMC Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/2 Bronze Stars and the Vietnam Campaign Medal w/device. He was honorably discharged in 1968 at the rank of Lance Corporal.

Michael later moved upstate and settled in Trout Creek. He was the owner of Forno Enterprises, a full service architectural aluminum and glass company. Over the years, he held several political positions, including Town of Masonville Supervisor, and Delaware County Legislator. Michael was a member and past Commander of the local American Legion Post, the 3rd Marine Division Association, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the AMVETS, and had been a Patriot Guard Riders member since 2008.

Please join me once again in standing for and honoring the life and service of Vietnam Veteran and fellow Patriot Guard Riders member Michael A. Spaccaforno.
