About the Mission:
The family of Donald E. Koch has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in honoring his life and service. Mr. Koch of Lackawanna, NY passed away on 28 February 2023.
Mr. Koch served our nation for 2 years on active duty in the US Army Artillery Branch from 1968-1970. His MOS was 13E20-Cannon Fire Direction Specialist/Intelligence Assistant, and he had 19 months of foreign service in Germany, assigned to B-Battery, 1st Battalion, 32nd Field Artillery Regiment. Mr. Koch was honorably discharged from active duty on 21 May 1970 with the rank of Specialist Four (E-4), and he earned the National Defense Service Medal, Army M-14 Marksman Qualification Badge, and Cold War Service Medal.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.
PGR will provide a respectful flag line for arrival of the family and guests. The funeral service is scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM. Following the service and dignified transfer, PGR will provide an escort to Lakeside Cemetery, 4810 Camp Road (Rt. 75), Hamburg, NY 14075 for interment with Military Honors. Click here for map

IMPORTANT NOTE: This Mission for Donald Koch occurs at the same time as the one in Newfane, NY for our fellow PGR member and USMC Vietnam War Combat Veteran Jay Marsh. Please do your best to ensure both missions receive adequate PGR coverage.
