About the Mission: The Patriot Guard Riders have been requested to stand in honor of the life and service of Candace "Candy" Casey-Wnek, who passed away on 12 November 2021.

Candace served 3-1/2 years on active duty in the US Marine Corps from 1977-1981, with an MOS of 0131-Unit Diary Clerk (performing as a pay and personnel data input and retrieval clerk.)
Her duty station included Headquarters & Maintenance Squadron-31, Marine Aircraft Group-31, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, Marine Corps Air Station, Beaufort, SC. Candace was honorably discharged from active duty on 3 April 1981 with the rank of Sergeant (E-5), and she earned the following awards: US Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, Rifle Marksman Badge, Two Meritorious Masts (1978 & 1980), and Two Certificates of Commendation in 1978 & 1981.

  • While in any outdoor setting, fully vaccinated PGR members will no longer be required to wear masks but are asked to act responsibly and respect your fellow members decision on this issue. For the protection of others, non-vaccinated members are asked to please wear a mask.
  • For the immediate future, all PGR members will continue to wear masks and social distance while indoors during a mission.
  • Masks will be worn at any other location where organizers, requestors or the Lead Ride Captain has determined that this be done.
  • Going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please respect the LRC’s decision on these matters.

Special Information: PGR will stand a respectful flag line for arrival of family and friends, and for the visitation hours from 1:00-3:00 PM.  A Celebration of Life is scheduled to begin at 3:00 PM, including USMC Military Honors.  There is no cemetery or escort involved in this Mission.

Please arrive with a clean 3x5 American or US Marine Corps flag, and dress for the weather.
Please consider participating for any amount of time that you're able to, in honor of the Marine Corps service of Candace "Candy" Casey-Wnek, and in support of her loving family.
