THOMAS J. FARRA, 83, Mastic Beach, lost his long battle with his illness and died at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset on August 8th, 2017. Tom was born in the Bronx, had served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War, and was a self-employed electrical contractor. He was the original ‘workaholic’, an active member of the VFW, loved to play cards, go to the casino, and traveled extensively with his wife and family to Aruba, Alaska, Vegas and Florida. He loved to play dominos and give domino sets to special family and friends. He was a devoted husband to his wife Florence to whom he had been married for the past sixty-four years. He was the loving father of Donna (Todd) Feibusch Cynthia (Frank) Perazzo, Thomas (Carrie) Farra and Laura (Christopher) Semlies. He was the cherished grandfather to Ashley, Elizabeth, Gabriella, Morgan, Nicole, Veronica, Charlotte, Graham and Harper. He was the loving brother to his twin Gerry, Ronald, and Catherine Barry. Family and friends were received at Roma Funeral Home in Shirley on Thursday and a Mass was offered at St. Jude’s RC Church in Mastic Beach at 10:00 am. Military honors were accorded to him by the US Army. A private cremation took place at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Center Moriches.
