Riders,
We have been asked to stand in honor of a US Military Veteran by the American Legion.

He was born 8/16/1954, died October 4, 2011

Ceremony 0900 hrs 2/17/11 (Thursday) (Short at the Funeral Home) escort out to Calverton. Probably Hicksville stage around 0730 but watch for detailed mission post.

Details to follow once a Ride Captain has been designated.

The following is from the American Legion.

"BACKGROUND

The New York City Mayor’s Office of Veterans’ Affairs, Terrance R. Holliday, Commissioner, has made every effort to ensure that all qualified Indigent Unclaimed Veterans been given a proper military burial in a National Cemetery.  They have designated the Queens County American Legion as an Organizational Friend tasked to perform this honorable duty.

We know little about NEIL THOMAS MCCAFFERTY, other than that he honorably served his Country in the Armed Forces.  He was a fellow veteran.  This is all The American Legion needs to know about this individual.

We invite all those who wish to show their respect to this fine American."

Details will follow, but this is the same American Legion post and Funeral Home that has been doing this for years. We have been honored to stand with them in the past and will continue to in the future.

Thank you for the time you give to those who stood for us.
