Tomorrow we have been invited to the presentation of the General MacArthur Leadership Award Ceremony.
This will be the 3rd year LIMA (Long Island MacArthur Airport) has presented this award. The award is presented to those that have shown tremendous leadership qualities and dedication to duty.
This years Honoree is Steve Clark, who recently lost his battle with cancer & passed in December of 2010. Steve was the Founder & President of 911-Veterans, retired with over 33 years in the Navy, a Suffolk County Police Officer and a Friend to many of us.
Steve's wife Terry, son John & daughter Ashley will be accepting this award on his behalf.
Date: Wednesday January 26th, 2011
Location: Long Island MacArthur Airport
Time: 1545 hrs - (ceremony will start at 1600 sharp!)
Detail: Attending ceremony & providing Honor Guard
We will have a minimum amount of flags on hand, so please bring yours if available.
After this ceremony is completed there will be refreshments courtesy of LIMA.
Shortly after ceremony 8 members of the 106th out of Westhampton will be flying in so we will stick around to provide a Welcome Home, even if you are unable to make the 1600 hrs ceremony, please try to come down by 1700 hrs for this Welcome Home.
Due to weather & road conditions there will be no escorts, Please park your vehicles is any public parking areas.
If I am running late due to prior commitments with our Veteran Support Program, please follow any directions that come from Ken & Artie.
