Memorial Day is a Federal Holiday which commemorates U.S. Service Members who have died while in military service. First enacted to Honor Union and Confederate Soldiers following the Civil War. It was extended after WW1 to Honor all Americans who have died in all wars. Once again we will spend our Memorial Day at Calverton National Cemetery and escorting some of Our Gold Star Parents.
 
Date: Monday May 30th, 2011
Stage Location: Island Grill Diner Parking Lot, Hospital Road, Patchogue
Time: 0910 hrs ~ KSU
R/C: Frank Bania
 
Detail: We will be escorting the Bishop, Ventura, Santora, Pacificador & Wilwerth familys to the Mastic Memorial Service, then up to Calverton National Cemetery for the Annual Remembrance. After going by the homes of the Santora’s & the Pacificador, we will proceed to Mr. & Mrs. Wilwerth’s home for coffee & donuts then up to the Mastic FD service on 27A.

Once the Mastic FD service is completed we will proceed to Calverton National Cemetery and stand a flag line for the hour service. Please be fueled up and keep hydrated as the last two years have been on the warm side.

If you have flag mounts set up on your bikes please have them flying for this entire escort, speeds will be kept low.
There will be a barbeque at Mr Kruger's home after services at CNC. All of the PGR is invited. Address will be given at CNC staging
 
Any support vehicle that can bring region flags to any or all events please contact me for availability, if you unable to get region flags there that day, please also contact me so that we may get them picked up so they are available for MDW services.
FYI - we will be entering CNC from the East side to avoid traffic at Floyd & 25 (utilizing Edwards Ave to Rte25.
The Memorial Day Service at CNC will be formatted differently then past years and we will go over at ride briefing.
 
I will be down in DC for Rolling Thunder from early Friday till late Sunday, if you need to contact me please send an email and I will answer from my phone when I can.
