We have been asked to stand for Max Guthartz by Martin Kohler of Nolan’s Funeral Home. Max was a resident of the Northport VA with no family of record. Nolan’s is burying him for the VA. Marty asked us because there is no family and no mourners. As there is no family of record I feel the request was appropriate. Frank Bania has granted me the honor of leading this mission.
He knows that he is a 100% service connected disabled Army Vet World War II with no family that is known and has been in the Northport VA Hospital for a long time.
He has arranged for a Rabbi to say prayers at 0900 with an escort to Calverton (ETA 1000 hrs) to follow.
