We have been invited to show our appreciation for their sacrifice. (See event details below). I understand that there are many events and ceremonies and they all are important and deserve our time and effort. We should be finished by 1045 hrs and the greeting part should be over by 1000 hrs.
As can be seen by the details below, the aircraft AA Veterans Flagship Independence will be unveiled and make its maiden flight with the brave men and women aboard. I ask who better than to honor than those who gave a part of themselves for us.
As Always when in the Airports please follow direction of the PD and TSA, and be aware that sometimes we may get access past security perimeters so be prepared for security Check, have ID or stand the line just outside as we always have that option.
It is possible that we may be asked to escort the Bus from West Point from the entrance to JFK to the terminal but that will be decided that morning and the stages times have been posted with that in mind. If that happens the Gen aviation stage might be changed.

Thursday, Nov 11, American Airlines Wounded Warriors Flight and Veterans Flagship unveiling. They will have a special charter with a group of wounded warriors and we will unveil the latest AA Veterans Flagship. Flagship Independence will fly DCA-JFK- LAS with approximately 150 wounded warriors and their guests to an event at the Venetian in Las Vegas.
From communications dealing with the set up of this event.......
This will basically be a group of “kids” (young men) wounded in Iraq/Afghanistan who have been seriously injured in the course of duty. I would like to solicit help in decorating and setting up the gate. There will be media in attendance. We would like to have a band and Color Guard. Please mark this on your calendar and talk it up in the work groups to help get us some help for this event.
Gentleman, Please see attached itinerary for our Wounded Warriors flight on Thursday, Veterans Day. It would be great if the Patriot Guard could attend. We will need people here around 8:30am as we have a bus bringing the New York passengers for this trip arriving at 9:00am. Dave Kohn and myself will be here at JFK That day. The flight will depart JFK at either 10:30 or 10:45. Please let me know. Thanks
