About the Mission: Technician Fifth Grade John A. Cortese faithfully and honorably executed his duties to our nation in Battery C, 967th Field Artillery Battalion during World War II. He served in the following locations: Ardennes, Central Europe, Normandy, Northern France, and Rhineland.
For his service, he was awarded the American Service Medal, European African Middle East Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal. He was also a Marksman on the M1 Carbine. He was Honorably discharged on 8 December 1945.

  • * ADDITIONAL MANDATORY REQUIREMENT: Wearing a protective face covering of some kind is required...homemade facemask, bandanna, etc. (Patriotic face coverings would be particularly appropriate) This will not only provide an extra layer of protection to ourselves and others, but will send the message that the PGR takes this crisis seriously and is performing this Mission responsibly.
Special Information: Please stage at funeral home by 9:30AM.
Family-only viewing to end near 10AM, at which point procession will leave for cemetery.
This Mission is a flag line only at funeral home - no escort.
Once procession leaves, Mission is over.
