ABOUT THE MISSION:
Calling all Riders and Patriots:
We have been asked by Paul J. Schottenhamel, Adjutant of the Queens County American Legion Unclaimed Veteran Burial Committee in Glendale, Queens, to Stand for, and Escort; Ernest R Garcia - US Army, Cesar Irizarry - USAF, and Gilfred D Sowell - USAF, to their final resting places of Honor in Calverton National Cemetery.
Ernest R Garcia, 71, - US Army - Vietnam Era 1969 - 1970
Cesar Irrizarry, 82, - USAF - Korea Era 1955 - 1957
Gilfred D Sowell, 76, - USAF - Vietnam Era - 1963 - 1967
Not much is known about these Otherwise Unaccompanied American Heroes other than their dates of birth, death, and their Military Service Branches. We know that none have any family or friend to stand for them, so that makes us their families.

- Stage 10:15 AM for KSU between 10:30 and 10:45 AM at Long Island Expressway Visitors' Center - Eastbound between Exits 51 & 52.
Procession should arrive at Calverton National Cemetery approximately 11:15 AM.
I know many of you will already be at CNC for our monthly NOA Ceremonies, but if anyone wants to ride into Glendale with me, I will stage at 8:45 AM in the parking lot behind the Blue Bay Diner on the northwest corner of Francis Lewis Blvd and Horace Harding Expressway (LIE.) (Westbound LIE Exit 28) KSU @ 9:00 AM.
