Aloysius J. D. Banken was born in Harlem, Netherlands on 12 June 1929. In the late 1940s, he worked as a Steward and Waiter on cruise ships sailing between Europe and New York City. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War Era from 13 August 1954 to 9 August 1956. While in the service, he became a U.S. citizen on 20 June 1955. Following his service, he returned to the sea for a while. At the time of his death, he lived in Flushing, Queens. Aloysius died on 11 November 2019.
Bert Moyer was born on 29 November 1934. He served in the U.S. Army from 25 June 1957 to 4 April 1960. He lived in Manhattan for many years. Bert died on 23 July 2019.
