Honor Mission

Kenneth Henrie

US Marine Corps
Vietnam Veteran
VietnamServiceRibbons 20

Farmingdale, NY - 10/13/2022

Mission applies to the following Region(s):

Region 8, Region 9

About the Mission:

Kenneth Henrie proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Just one day short of his exit date from Vietnam, he voluntarily swapped places with a buddy that needed to return home for a family matter. In that 24 hour period, Kenneth and his unit came under RPG attack and he suffered significant wounds causing complete blindness and deafness. Through medical intervention, sight and vision were restored to one eye and ear. Upon medical retirement from the service, Kenneth attended Hofstra University, earned his law degree and became a Public Defender in New Mexico. Due to medical reasons, his wife and son who are both out of state are unable to attend his services. Prior to his death, Kenneth requested to be cremated and flown to Long Island for burial near other family members.

Funeral Director Michael Quinn has arranged to livestream his services for his family. A flag will be presented to his wife remotely as it is presented to Councilman Dennis Dunne at Calverton.  Patriot Guard Riders has been requested to stand in honor of this American hero.
