About the Mission: James W. Cornell faithfully and honorably executed his duties in service to our nation from the time of his enlistment on 10 November 1954, until his honorable discharge at the rank of Corporal on 13 December 1957.

He served with the Weapons Company, 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marine Division as a Machine Gunner (0331,) and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and Expert Badge.
