The Patriot Guard Riders have once again been asked to participate in the Wreaths Across America Ceremony to be held this Saturday, December 11th. at Saratoga National Cemetery.  The organizers have requested that we be there around 9:00am.  Actual wreath laying to begin sometime around 10:00am.  The Patriot Guard Riders, at approx 11:00am -11:30am, will be laying wreaths on many of the notables that are interred in the cemetery.

Last year there were some 400+ wreaths that were distributed - this year the total is 613.

Saratoga National Cemetery has a concern about placing the wreaths in upright positions against the headstones. The wire rim on the wreaths has the potential to mar or scratch the headstones.   In years past, the wreaths were ultimately placed flat on the ground.  Not the desired effect most were looking for.

This year - the Patriot Guard Riders have secured wreath stands for all 613 wreaths.  Don Miller reached out to Parker Brothers Funeral Home, Watervliet, NY. and they donated 200 wreath stands.  Big Dan Nolin reached out to Carleton Funeral Home, Hudson Falls, NY and they donated another 200 wreath stands.  The PGR will provide stands for the other 213.

Sunny and cold for Saturday.  Bring your flag - if we have enough volunteers I can think of a way to use a flag line for the ceremonies.

See you Saturday............
