About the Mission: We have been requested by the Funeral Home Director on behalf of the family to participate in the military honors funeral of Carl T. "Woody" Woodman.  Carl, 69, passed on Friday, June 26, 2020.

Born in Malone, NY, Carl served his country during Vietnam with the United States Marines Corps. He served from 1967 until 1970.  Upon his active duty discharge, he served as a reservist in the Army, Navy and lastly the Air Force stationed at Stratton Air National Guard Base in Scotia until his retirement from military duty in 2010.  Carl was also called back to active duty during Desert Storm.  Carl felt very strongly about his military service and was proud to serve his country.  As a Marine, he was discharged as Sergeant, his highest rank when he retired from the Air Force was Master Sergeant.

Carl was an active member of the Veterans Motorcycle Club, Chapter 8 from Scotia, and recently obtained his 10-year membership coin. Besides being in the military, and the military reserves he worked at Knolls Atomic Laboratory as an NDT specialists until his retirement in 2010.

The Patriot Guard Riders will be there to render honor, dignity and respect for the life and service of Carl T. "Woody" Woodman.

  • * ADDITIONAL MANDATORY REQUIREMENT: Wearing a protective face covering of some kind is required...homemade facemask, bandanna, etc. (Patriotic face coverings would be particularly appropriate) This will not only provide an extra layer of protection to ourselves and others, but will send the message that the PGR takes this crisis seriously and is performing this Mission responsibly.
Special Information: We have been requested to stand flag line at the entrance of the cemetery for the arrival of family and friends.  After the family leaves the entrance waiting area for the shelter, we will stand down.  Our part of the mission will be over. Remember to wear your mask and we will stand a good six to ten feet apart to line the entrance.
