About the Mission:

The family of Roy C. Wilcox has requested Patriot Guard Rider participation in his military honors funeral services. Roy, 89, of Delmar, passed away on Monday, August 31, 2020.

Born in Chester, Mass., Roy resided in Clarksville, NY. He enlisted in the United States Army after WWII on 18 August 1948, and served with Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion, 33rd Infantry during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged on 23 May 1952 at the rank of Corporal.

Roy worked for the A & P Warehouse for 23yrs. He also was a school bus driver for the Bethlehem Central School District and Yankee Trails tour bus. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, feeding birds and watching wildlife. He loved just talking to people and was a very well liked man.

  • * ADDITIONAL MANDATORY REQUIREMENT: Wearing a protective face covering of some kind is required...homemade facemask, bandanna, etc. (Patriotic face coverings would be particularly appropriate) This will not only provide an extra layer of protection to ourselves and others, but will send the message that the PGR takes this crisis seriously and is performing this Mission responsibly.
Special Information: Interment with military honors scheduled for 11:30 am. The family is proceeding directly to the cemetery. There is no escort. For those arriving early, please form a flag line at the main entrance for the arrival of the funeral home transport.
