About the Mission:

Patriot Guard Riders has been requested to participate in the military honors funeral services of Robert W. Nolin.    Robert, 84, of Craig Ave. passed away Thursday June 30, 2022 at his residence.

Born and educated in Watervliet, Bob enlisted in the US Air Force on 10 March 1955 and was trained as a Ground Radar Operator (AFSC 29350).  He spent 3 years and 8 months on active duty, including 2 years and 9 months overseas assigned to the 604th Aircraft Control and Warning Squadron, OLA 2 in Freisberg, Germany.   He was honorably discharged at the rank of Airman 3rd Class on 20 November 1958 and for his service, was awarded the Good Conduct Medal.

Bob was also a member of the US Merchant Marine and worked for many years on numerous tugboats as a cook and deckhand. He retired from Mobil Oil Co. Upon his retirement, he drove school bus for 7 years for Shenendehowa School District and then drove the Waterford Senior Bus for 5 years.  He was a member of the American Legion, Charles J. Brady Post 235, a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Waterford, and was a member of the Waterford Senior Citizens.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: NYS Guidelines of 2 March 2022, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.


Special Information:

We will stage at the church with a flag line for the arrival of the funeral procession.  Church services are scheduled for 10:00 am and followed by an escort to Saratoga National Cemetery for interment with military honors.
