About the Mission: The family of Richard B. Nowosielski has requested Patriot Guard Rider participation in his military honors funeral services. Richard, 75, passed on Tuesday, January 11, 2022.

Born in Albany, Richard was a 1964 graduate of St. Joseph’s Academy. He enlisted in the US Air Force on 4 September 1964 and was trained as a Medical Materiel Specialist (AFSC 91550). He spent 11 months overseas, assigned to the 377th USAF Dispensary at Tan Son Nhut Airfield, Republic of Vietnam. He was honorably discharged on 26 August 1968 at the rank of Sergeant (E-4), and for his service, was awarded the US Air Force Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/one Bronze Star, Small Arms Expert Ribbon and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal w/60 Device.

After his military service, Richard went on to serve in law enforcement with the Albany Police Department from July of 1973 to March of 2002, retiring at the rank of Captain.  He later worked as a Security Officer at the Port of Albany.

  • While in any outdoor setting, fully vaccinated PGR members will no longer be required to wear masks but are asked to act responsibly and respect your fellow members decision on this issue. For the protection of others, non-vaccinated members are asked to please wear a mask.
  • For the immediate future, all PGR members will continue to wear masks and social distance while indoors during a mission.
  • Masks will be worn at any other location where organizers, requestors or the Lead Ride Captain has determined that this be done.
  • Going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please respect the LRC’s decision on these matters.

Special Information: Interment with military honors scheduled for 11:00 am. The family has requested PGR members to act as pall bearers, if at all possible. Flags will be provided.
