The family of Arnold H. Gundrum has requested Patriot Guard Riders presence at his military honors funeral services.

Arnold, 73, of Route 66 Town of Nassau, died on Monday, May 1, 2017, at the Albany Medical Center after a short illness. Born and raised in Troy, Arnold grew up on Thomas Street in Troy and was a graduate of Troy High. Arnold enlisted in the US Navy in March, 1965, and was assigned to the Seabees.  His MOS was BUL 0000/0000, Builder (Light Construction) Petty Officer 3rd Class (E-4). For his service, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal w/One Bronze Star, the Fleet Marine Combat Insignia and the Vietnam Campaign Medal w/Device.  He was Honorably discharged in July of 1968.

After his service to his country, Arnold resided in Phoenix for five years before moving to Averill Park in 1973. Arnold had been a union carpenter for a number of years before working in the housekeeping department at the Evergreen Commons Nursing Home in East Greenbush. Arnold was a member of the Sgt.
