About the Mission: The family of Albert Edward "Bert" VanDeusen has requested Patriot Guard Rider participation in his military honors funeral services. Bert, 72, passed at home on Sunday, February 23, 2020.

Born in Amsterdam, Bert served in the United States Army, completing a tour of duty in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in 1968, and for his service was awarded the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal w/60 device. He most recently worked as a bus driver for Galway Central Schools, retiring in June of 2018.

Special Information: Interment with military honors scheduled for 11:00 AM. Please stage quietly at Shelter 2, and be aware of any services already in progress. For those arriving early, please form a dignified flag line at the main entrance for the arrival of the funeral procession.
