ABOUT THE MISSION:
The family of Mr. Ralph Anthony Courcelle, United States Navy WWII veteran has requested Patriot Guard Rider presence at his military honors funeral services.
Narrative:
Mr. Ralph A. Courcelle, a “Greatest Generation hero passed away Saturday, February 11, 2017. Born on March 30, 1926 in Rutland VT, Ralph joined the Navy in April of 1943. After completing basic training at the Naval Training Center in Sampson, NY, he was assigned to an amphibious base in Falmouth, England. His duties included serving as a driver and transporting supplies from London, Exeter and Torquay. He also helped the Navy prepare for the D-Day invasion of Normandy. During 1944 – 1945, he served aboard the USS PC-484, a US Navy Patrol Craft. For his service, Ralph was awarded the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, the American Theater Campaign Medal, the WWII Victory Medal, and attained the rating of Coxswain.
After being Honorably discharged in 1946, Ralph worked for the Albany Medical Center and the State of New York as an engineer. On November 16, 2016, Ralph was honored at the Albany County Honor A Veteran Program Ceremony, with the Patriot Guard Riders in attendance. On April 12, Ralph will be interred along with his wife of 68 years, Camille Tremblay Courcelle.
The Patriot Guard Riders are proud to be able to stand once again for Mr. Ralph A. Courcelle, and render dignity, honor and respect for his life and service to our nation.
