About the Mission: The Patriot Guard Riders have been requested by the family of William "Scott" Franck to participate in his military honors funeral services. Scott, 74, of Hartford NY passed away on January 1st, 2022, at Albany Medical Center.

Born in Hartford Connecticut, Scott enlisted in the US Marine Corps at the age of 17. He served in Vietnam from 1965-1966 with the 2nd battalion, 1st Marines and was a member of the elusive Ghost Battalion CAP. He achieved the rank of Sergeant and was a guard at the United States Embassy in Bagdad, Iraq after Vietnam. His service in the USMC was his greatest honor. He was passionate about helping other veterans and was a member of VFW 6196 and CAP Veterans. He loved his country and was a true patriot.

Scott was recruited directly from Camp Lejeune by the Metropolitan Police Dept. in Washington D.C. where he served until being injured in the line of duty.

  • While in any outdoor setting, fully vaccinated PGR members will no longer be required to wear masks but are asked to act responsibly and respect your fellow members decision on this issue. For the protection of others, non-vaccinated members are asked to please wear a mask.
  • For the immediate future, all PGR members will continue to wear masks and social distance while indoors during a mission.
  • Masks will be worn at any other location where organizers, requestors or the Lead Ride Captain has determined that this be done.
  • Going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please respect the LRC’s decision on these matters.

Special Information: We will stage flag line for arrival of family and friends and then dignified transfer then escort to Saratoga National Cemetery for a 1:00 service.
