About the Mission:

We have been requested by the family of Warren J. Armstrong to participate in his military honors funeral. Warren passed away January 17th 2021.

Warren graduated from Troy High School and went on to attend Albany State University before joining the US Marine Corps. He served in Vietnam from 1969 to 1970, earning a Purple Heart, two Crosses of Gallantry and a Navy Commendation Medal with Combat “V”.

After coming home, Warren worked for the Albany Police Department attaining the rank of Sergeant. After a little more than 8 years with the police department he went to work at the Post Office and retired after 26 years of service. He was a life member of the VFW #420, ITAM Post 35, the American Legion #70 and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles.

  • * ADDITIONAL MANDATORY REQUIREMENT: Wearing a protective face covering of some kind is required...homemade facemask, bandanna, etc. (Patriotic face coverings would be particularly appropriate) This will not only provide an extra layer of protection to ourselves and others, but will send the message that the PGR takes this crisis seriously and is performing this Mission responsibly.
Special Information: We will stand a flag line for the arrival of family, then about 9:15 we will have the dignified transfer and then escort to Saratoga National Cemetery.
