About the Mission: The family of Roy R. Boehlke has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services, Roy, 73, passed on Monday, April 19, 2021.

Born and raised in Albany, Roy graduated from South Colonie High School in 1966. He enlisted in the US Air Force in 1967 and served as an aircraft radio repairman. His assignments included Thailand and Goose Bay, Labrador. He was honorably discharged in 1975 at the rank of Staff Sergeant (E-5).

For more than 30 years, Richard was employed as a service technician with IBM, retiring in 2007. He was an avid craftsman who enjoyed woodworking, tile setting, and various home improvements.

  • ** ADDITIONAL MANDATORY REQUIREMENT: Wearing a protective face covering of some kind is required...homemade face-mask, bandanna, etc. (Patriotic face coverings would be particularly appropriate) This will not only provide an extra layer of protection to ourselves and others, but will send the message that the PGR takes this crisis seriously and is performing this Mission responsibly.
Special Information: Staging at the funeral home with a flag line for the arrival of family and guests. A Memorial Service will take place at 11:00 am, with anticipated KSU to Saratoga National Cemetery of 12:15 pm.

Second Stage - Special Information: Interment with military honors scheduled for 1:30 pm. Members arriving early are asked to form a flag line at the main entrance for the arrival of the funeral cortege.
