About the Mission:

We have been requested by the family of Robert Leonard to participate in his military honors funeral services.

Following high school graduation, Robert began a military career that spanned 29 years, during which he served in the United States Marine Corps, the 109th Air National Guard and the New York Guard, achieving the rank of lieutenant colonel. He was a member of the American Legion Post #1450 and the Marine Corps League.

Robert enjoyed a 32-year career at the Watervliet Arsenal Benet Labs, retiring in 2002, at which time he began a second career as a security officer for the Town of Clifton Park.

Robert was most proud of his service to his community as a member of the Jonesville Volunteer Fire Department for 49 years in various roles and positions.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: NYS Guidelines of 2 March 2022, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.

Special Information:

We will stand a flag line at  the church for the arrival of family and friends.  After the service, we will stand for a dignified transfer and then provide an escort to Saratoga National Cemetery for a 1:00pm service. I have been informed this will be a big funeral.
