About the Mission: The family of Nicholas J. Marschhauser has requested Patriot Guard Rider Participation in his military honors funeral services. Nicholas, 91, passed on November 16, 2021.

Born in the Bronx, NY, Nicholas and his family moved to Yorktown Heights, where they stayed until their retirement. Nicholas retired from the Yorktown Heights Police Department after 20 years of service. He was a lifetime member of the Yorktown Volunteer Fire Department. Nicholas also retired from the United States Military, where he served over 24 years. He spent time in the US Navy with the Seabees, the US Army and finally retired from the Army National Guard.

After retirement, he moved to Gansevoort, NY, where he started Nick’s Tent, then later moved to Granville, NY. Nicholas was a 45-year member of the American Legion, in Yorktown, Lake George and Granville, NY, Where he held various positions. He was also a member of the US Navy Seabee Veterans of America Island X-14, the National Seabee Veterans of America, the 40/8, and the Korean War Veterans Association where he held numerous positions.

  • While in any outdoor setting, fully vaccinated PGR members will no longer be required to wear masks but are asked to act responsibly and respect your fellow members decision on this issue. For the protection of others, non-vaccinated members are asked to please wear a mask.
  • For the immediate future, all PGR members will continue to wear masks and social distance while indoors during a mission.
  • Masks will be worn at any other location where organizers, requestors or the Lead Ride Captain has determined that this be done.
  • Going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please respect the LRC’s decision on these matters.

Special Information: Interment with military honors scheduled for 11:00 am. Please stage quietly and be aware of any services already in progress.
