About the Mission: The family of Milton Ivan Thomas, Jr. Has requested Patriot Guard Rider participation in his military honors funeral services. Milton, 68, passed on Sunday, December 20, 2020.

Not much is known of Milton's life or service at this time. He enlisted in the United States Air Force on 30 August, 1971, and was trained as a Fire Protection Specialist (AFSC 57150). He spent almost 11 months overseas and was last assigned to the 4392 Civil Engineering Squadron at Vandenberg AFB in California. He was honorably discharged on 29 July, 1976 at the rank of Sergeant (E-4) and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal and the Air Force Longevity Service Award.

  • * ADDITIONAL MANDATORY REQUIREMENT: Wearing a protective face covering of some kind is required...homemade facemask, bandanna, etc. (Patriotic face coverings would be particularly appropriate) This will not only provide an extra layer of protection to ourselves and others, but will send the message that the PGR takes this crisis seriously and is performing this Mission responsibly.
Special Information: Staging at the funeral home with a flag line for the arrival of family and guests. Family will arrive by 10:00 am, with public visitation from 11:00 am - 11:30 am. Funeral service to follow with escort to Saratoga National Cemetery for interment with military honors.
