About the Mission: We have been requested by the family of Maynard D. Baker to participate in his military honors funeral services. Maynard, 91, passed on Monday, April 19, 2021

Born in Sandusky, Ohio, Maynard attended Warrensburg Central School.  On July 30, 1946, at the age of 16, he enlisted in the United States Navy, and served under the command of Admiral Halsey as Fireman First Class aboard the USS Oregon City (CA-122), and then the USS Portsmouth (CL-102), porting in both the Atlantic and Mediterranean areas. Maynard was awarded the World War II Victory Medal and honorably discharged July 23, 1948, three months before he was able to vote.

  • ** ADDITIONAL MANDATORY REQUIREMENT: Wearing a protective face covering of some kind is required...homemade face-mask, bandanna, etc. (Patriotic face coverings would be particularly appropriate) This will not only provide an extra layer of protection to ourselves and others, but will send the message that the PGR takes this crisis seriously and is performing this Mission responsibly.
Special Information: We will stage our flag line for dignified transfer and then prepare to escort to Warrensburg Cemetery.
