ABOUT THE MISSION:

The family of Mr. Joseph Michael Micare, United States Marine Corps, Vietnam veteran has requested Patriot Guard Rider presence at his military honors funeral services.

Narrative:
Joseph “Joe” M. Micare, 68, of Albany, NY, passed away peacefully at Albany Medical Center on April 5, 2017. He was born in Albany, NY on May 28, 1948 and, after graduating from Cardinal McCloskey High School, enlisted in the United State Marine Corps where he proudly served his country in Vietnam. His MOS was 0341, Mortar Man. For his service, Joe was awarded the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal w/three Bronze Stars, the Vietnam Campaign Medal and an Expert Badge with the M14 Rifle. Joe was Honorably discharged on 20 June, 1969 at the rank of Lance Corporal (E3).

Following his Honorable Discharge from the Marine Corps, Joe had a career in the telecommunications field starting with the New York Telephone Company and retiring from Avaya.

The Patriot Guard Riders are proud to be able to stand for, and display honor dignity and respect for the life and service of Joseph M. Micare, proud United States Marine and Vietnam Veteran. Semper Fi, Marine!
