About the Mission:

Patriot Guard Riders has been asked to participate in the military honors funeral services of John W. Peck.  John, 92, passed away peacefully on Monday October 3, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Victory Mills NY, John was taught by his mother in a one room schoolhouse before going to, and graduating from, Saratoga Springs High School in 1947. After graduating, he proudly served in the United States Army as a Specialist 3rd Class. 

John worked in Knolls Atomic Laboratory as a computer operator for 25 years, then later became employed with Snap-On Tools for an additional 17 years before retiring in 2000.  He was a founding member of the Quaker Springs Fire Dept. and enjoyed stock car racing, helping his neighbors, especially in fixing anything mechanical.  You could find him first in line every morning at 7am at the Ugly Rooster for breakfast in Mechanicville.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.

Special Information:

We will stand a flag line for calling hour between 09:30 and 10:30 am, which will be followed by a short service.  After the service, we will provide an escort to Saratoga National Cemetery for a 12:30 committal service.
