ABOUT THE MISSION:

The family of John J. Hurley has requested the presence of the Patriot Guard Riders in his military honors funeral.
John was born in the Bronx to Irish immigrants from Limmerick, Ireland. John proudly served with the US Army from 1966 - 1968. He served in Vietnam as a Specialist 5 in the 360th Transportation Company. John was a heavy vehicle driver hauling JP4 fuel driving thousands of miles on convoy operations. Upon leaving the Army, he worked for Western Electric/Verizon until he retired. John enjoyed animals, especially horses and even took care of Martha Stewart's horses for a few years. He was an avid skiier skiing the slopes of Killington, Vt. One of John's dreams was fulfilled by building a home in Vermont with his partner of 22 years.
