About the Mission:

The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited, by the family, to stand in honor of the life and service of Franklin Scott Sheerer. Scott as he would like to be called passed on Wednesday June 17th

Scott served in the US Navy for three years learning the rank of FN-E3 as an electrical mechanical equipment repairman from 1984 to 1987 serving on the USS Orion. He received two Sea service deployment ribbons, and was honorably discharged in 1987. he was most recently employed by the veteran and community housing coalition at the men's house we also volunteered countless hours including holidays. Everyone there respected and liked Scott very much. Scott was a volunteer fireman and volunteered many hours to various agencies that he thought would help those who most needed it. In later years Scott suffered legal blindness from diabetes, upon his return to New York, he was gifted with Rodger his yellow lab seeing eye dog. They quickly became best friends walking numerous miles daily, and having coffee where he knew everyone's name loved hiking bike riding oh, and even went kayaking once.
