About the Mission: The family of Charles J. Bauer, Jr. has requested Patriot Guard Rider participation in his military honors funeral services. Charles, 86, passed on April 19, 2021.

Born in Albany, NY, Charles served in the United States Air Force as a Communications Specialist between 1952 and 1960, including time in France. Charles was honorably discharged at the rank of Staff Sergeant (E-5), and for his service was awarded the USAF Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. Charles later worked for the New York State Office of General Services.

  • ** ADDITIONAL MANDATORY REQUIREMENT: Wearing a protective face covering of some kind is required...homemade face-mask, bandanna, etc. (Patriotic face coverings would be particularly appropriate) This will not only provide an extra layer of protection to ourselves and others, but will send the message that the PGR takes this crisis seriously and is performing this Mission responsibly.
Special Information: Staging at the funeral home with a flag line for the funeral services scheduled for 11:30 am. Dignified transfer and escort to Memory Gardens Cemetery to follow.
