About the Mission: The family of Alexander F. Nusco has requested Patriot Guard Rider participation in his military honors funeral services. Alexander, 89, passed on April 27, 2021.

Born in Ulster, NY, Alex was a 1950 graduate of Linton High School.  He proudly went on to defend his country, enlisting in the US Army on 20 February 1951. He was trained as a Photographic Laboratory Technician and was assigned to the 28th Infantry Division in Germany, where he spent 18 months. He was honorably discharged on 30 January 1954 at the rank of Sergeant and for his service was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Army Occupation Medal - Germany.

Alex later worked as a photographer for ALCO for 13 years and went on to work for New York State Department of Commerce as a photographer for 25 years, retiring in 1992. Alex was a life member of the VFW Post 4660 and a longtime communicant of the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Glenville.

  • ** ADDITIONAL MANDATORY REQUIREMENT: Wearing a protective face covering of some kind is required...homemade face-mask, bandanna, etc. (Patriotic face coverings would be particularly appropriate) This will not only provide an extra layer of protection to ourselves and others, but will send the message that the PGR takes this crisis seriously and is performing this Mission responsibly.
Special Information: Staging at the church with a flag line for the arrival of the family. Services are scheduled for 10:00 am. Upon conclusion, members will escort to Evergreen Memorial Park, 2150 Central Avenue, Colonie, for interment with military honors.
