ABOUT THE MISSION:
The 865th Combat Support Hospital in Utica has requested the support of the Patriot Guard Riders for an escort to, and flag line at their Change in Command Ceremony on April 9, 2017 at the Oriskany Battlefield in Oriskany, NY.
The mission of the 865th CSH is to provide hospitalization and surgical services during military operations. They command missions for assigned and attached units to provide hospitalization and outpatient services for all classes of patients within the area of operations. This unit deploys on a regular basis. USA COL Scott Byers is retiring and relinquishing his command of the 865th to USA COL Kevin Costello.
The Patriot Guard will be providing an escort from the 865th CSH Reserve Center to the Oriskany Battlefield (9 miles). At the Battlefield the PGR will provide a flagline for the duration of the ceremony, approximately one hour.

- We will stage on Marauder Blvd., a few feet from the departure point at the Reserve Center, at 08:30 AM. KSU at 09:00
- Flags & Water:
- Flags Will NOT Be Provided, Please Bring Your Own.
- If you have large bike flags, please bring them.
- Water WILL NOT be provided, please bring your own.

- We will dismount in the parking lot at the battlefield and form a flag line. There may be considerable attendance by the public, schools and news media so be prepared if we must park on softer grass.
Be mindful of the weather conditions and use cages if warranted. If caging is your choice, please go directly to the battlefield for the flag line at 09:30.
