About the Mission: The family of Kenneth Dale Ripley, Jr. has requested Patriot Guard Rider participation in his military honors funeral services. Kenneth, 70, passed away on July 22, 2020 at his home surrounded by family.

Kenneth graduated from McGraw High School, McGraw, NY. He enlisted in the United States Army on 24 April 1968 and completed training as a Medical Specialist (MOS 91B20). He served in Vietnam from 26 February 1969 to 24 February 1970 as a Combat Medic. He was honorably discharged on 23 April 1971 at the rank of Specialist 5th Class (E5). For his service, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, 2 Overseas Service Bars, Army Commendation Medal w/Oak Leaf Cluster, Combat Medical Badge, Vietnam Service Medal w/3 Bronze Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/60 Device and the Expert Badge - Rifle (M-14).

Kenneth was a graduate of the first class of Physician Assistant’s in New York; at HVCC/Albany Med. Kenneth was employed by UHS as a Physician’s Assistant for 38 years at their Deposit, NY and Norwich, NY offices. He belonged to the Deposit VFW, American Legion in Endicott, NY and the Organization of the Vietnam Veterans. Kenneth’s pride and joy was his loving family who will miss him dearly.

  • * ADDITIONAL MANDATORY REQUIREMENT: Wearing a protective face covering of some kind is required...homemade facemask, bandanna, etc. (Patriotic face coverings would be particularly appropriate) This will not only provide an extra layer of protection to ourselves and others, but will send the message that the PGR takes this crisis seriously and is performing this Mission responsibly.
Special Information: Staging at the funeral home with flag line for a dignified transfer. Members will escort to the Port Crane Cemetery for interment with military honors, a distance of approximately 30 miles. KSU from funeral home approximately 10:00 am. For those in the area who may wish to, you can stage directly at the cemetery.

Note: For members in the Capital District that would like to join me, I will be staging at the Pilot Travel Center, 1128 Duanesburg Rd, Rotterdam, NY 12306, with KSU approximately 07:30. The ride to Deposit is approximately 103 miles.  We will fuel up in Deposit upon arrival.
