ABOUT THE MISSION:
We have been requested to stand in Honor of another WWII Hero. Michael S. Gluc passed away on October 18th. He served Active Duty in the U.S. Army for 3 years from 1942-1945, with an MOS of 409-Medical Technician. Mr. Gluc served 2 years in the Pacific Theater with the Medical Detachment of the 32nd Infantry. His duties included assisting medical officers in administering treatment, first aid, blood transfusions, and medicine dispensary to sick and wounded soldiers. Mr. Gluc was involved in the Eastern Mandates, Southern Philippines and Ryukyus Campaigns, and was wounded in action on Leyte Island on 19 December 1944. Mr. Gluc was Honorably Discharged on 13 December 1945 with the rank of Technician 4th Grade. For his Heroic Service to our Nation, T4 Gluc was awarded: Bronze Star Medal; Purple Heart Medal; Army Good Conduct Medal; American Campaign Medal; Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal w/3 Campaign Stars and Bronze Arrowhead; Philippine Liberation Medal w/2 Bronze Stars; WWII Victory Medal. Mr. Gluc was also a proud participant in a Buffalo Niagara Honor Flight Mission.
