Memorial Service, 5th Annual Heroes Run, Veteran

ABOUT THE MISSION:

This Mission is for those members who are unable to participate in the full Heroes Run, but wish to participate in some way. A significant part of the HOTH 5th Annual Heroes Run will be a Memorial Service honoring Army Sgt. Shania B. Schmigel of Batavia and all women who have served in the U.S. Military. The Memorial Service will take place at the United Memorial Hospital's Veteran Memorial in Batavia. The PGRNY will present a granite memorial bench along with a Flag Line to Honor Shania's Sacrifice and to Honor all women who have served. Members of Shania's family along with many other special guests will be in attendance.

Description:  This location is behind the old St. Jerome's Hospital that is now owned by UMMC.  The new Memorial bench will be at the existing Veteran's Memorial site located at the corner of Bank & Washington Street.

Staff from the hospital will be set up there with coffee and a tent.

 Please look for LRC Ken Lyons for specific parking instructions.

Special Instructions:
This will be a Flag Line to receive the Heroes Run participants as they arrive and for the Memorial Service.
Please report to the staging location indicated above, but be prepared to park as directed by RC Ken Lyons in order to provide parking room for Heroes Run participants.
Please arrive with a clean 3x5 American Flag or U.S. Army flag, and dress for the weather.
This is a very significant Memorial event, please do whatever you're able to help provide a good showing.

SPECIAL NOTE: Volunteers are still needed to help at the Heroes Run start/end location in Rush. D. Higgins plans to be there all day to assist.
