About the Mission: The Patriot Guard Riders have been requested to stand in Honor of the life and service of William C. Cone of Buffalo, who passed away on 16 April 2019 of injuries sustained during a home invasion in Buffalo.

Mr. Cone served 2 years on active duty in the US Army from 1963-1965, with an MOS of 64A10-Light Vehicle Driver. He was attached to Company B, 502nd Service & Transportation Battalion, 2nd Armored Division at Fort Hood, TX. Mr. Cone was Honorably Discharged on 17 November 1965 with the rank of Private First Class (E-3), and he earned the National Defense Service Medal and M-14 Rifle Sharpshooter Badge.

IMPORTANT

The Mandatory Rules for Covid-19 protection practices...these WILL be strictly enforced.

  • Stay a minimum of 6 feet apart from each other at all times.
  • No handshaking, fist-bumping, hugs, cheek kissing or any other physical contact.
  • Follow all Covid-19 protection practices as described on the CDC website.

  • * ADDITIONAL MANDATORY REQUIREMENT: Wearing a protective face covering of some kind is required...homemade facemask, bandanna, etc. (Patriotic face coverings would be particularly appropriate) This will not only provide an extra layer of protection to ourselves and others, but will send the message that the PGR takes this crisis seriously and is performing this Mission responsibly.
Special Information: Assemble in preparation for escort to Bath National Cemetery. KSU approx. 1:00 PM.
Interment ceremony with Military Honors is scheduled for 2:00 PM.
Please arrive with a clean 3x5 American or US Army flag, dress for the weather, and ensure your large flags are very securely attached for the 45-mile escort at highway speeds.
Please be prepared to comply with all PGRNY and local protocols and requirements for social distancing.
IMPORTANT: Weapons of ANY kind are disallowed on Bath Medical Center & National Cemetery grounds.
IMPORTANT: PGR has just recently been allowed to resume Missions on the BNC grounds, with restrictions. Please follow the directions and guidance of the Ride Captain at all times.
