ABOUT THE MISSION:

Sadly, we must come together to Honor our friend, our fellow PGR Member and U.S. Army Veteran Richard "Dick" Tracy, who passed away unexpectedly on August 7th at his home in Hamburg.

Dick was a very proud Vietnam War Era Veteran, serving Active Duty from 1968-1970, and Army Reserve/ANG Duty from 1970-1977. The majority of his Active Duty was spent in Baumholder, Germany with 1st Battalion, 13th Infantry Regiment, 8th Infantry Division, with an MOS of 11D40 - Armor Reconnaissance Specialist. He was Honorably Discharged 14 March 1970 with the rank of Sergeant (E-5.) Dick's Army Reserve/National Guard Service included duty as a Squad Leader with the 152nd Construction Engineer Battalion in Buffalo, and was Honorably Discharged on 2 February 1977 with the rank of Staff Sergeant (E-6.) His awards included the Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Army Expert Badges for M-14 and M-16 Rifles, and Army Sharpshooter Badge for Machine Gun.

In addition to being a very proud and active Patriot Guard Riders NY member, Dick was very active in various Veteran's groups, including American Legion Honor Guard duty.
