About the Mission: The Patriot Guard Riders have been requested to stand in Honor of the life and service of Martin E. Nowak, who passed away on 8 June 2020.

Mr. Nowak served almost 3 years of active duty in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1966-1969, including 13 months of duty in Vietnam. His MOS was 1443-Surveyor, and he was attached to Headquarters Company, 7th Engineer Support Battalion, III Marine Amphibious Force. Mr. Nowak was Honorably Discharged on 18 March 1969 with the rank of Corporal (E-4), and he earned the following: National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/2 Bronze Service Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal and Rifle Sharpshooter Badge.

  • * ADDITIONAL MANDATORY REQUIREMENT: Wearing a protective face covering of some kind is required...homemade facemask, bandanna, etc. (Patriotic face coverings would be particularly appropriate) This will not only provide an extra layer of protection to ourselves and others but will send the message that the PGR takes this crisis seriously and is performing this Mission responsibly.

Graveside interment service at 10:30 AM.
NOTE: USMC Military Honors were rendered previously in June at the FH.
Please arrive on time with a clean 3x5 American or USMC flag, and dress for the weather.
Please be prepared to abide by all local and PGRNY social distancing and face-covering requirements.
