About the Mission: The Patriot Guard Riders have been requested to stand in honor of the life and service of Leroy "Butch" Rogers of Derby, NY, who passed away on 27 April 2021.

Mr. Rogers served 2 years on active duty in the US Army Armored Division from 1967-1969, with 18 months of foreign service as an Armor Crewman with 3rd Battalion, 32nd Armored Regiment, 3rd Armored Division, US Army Europe, in Germany. Mr. Rogers was honorably discharged from active duty on 11 June 1969 with the rank of Specialist 5th Class (Sergeant) (E-5), and he earned the National Defense Service Medal.

IMPORTANT

  • ** ADDITIONAL MANDATORY REQUIREMENT: Wearing a protective face covering of some kind is required...homemade face-mask, bandanna, etc. (Patriotic face coverings would be particularly appropriate) This will not only provide an extra layer of protection to ourselves and others but will send the message that the PGR takes this crisis seriously and is performing this Mission responsibly.
Special Information:

The PGR will provide a flag line for the arrival of family and friends.  The funeral service at the funeral home is scheduled to begin at 9:30 AM.  Following a dignified transfer, The PGR will provide an escort to Saint Vincent De Paul Cemetery, 2133 Shadagee Rd. at Rt. 20, Eden, NY 14057 for burial with Military Honors.

The escort will be approximately 8 miles.  Please arrive with a clean 3x5 American or U.S. Army flag, dress for the weather, and ensure your large flags are securely attached.
